Labour ComplianceThe Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), October 7, 2026, has fixed the amount of funeral expenses payable under the Social Security framework at ₹20,000. 

The following has been stated:

The amount of funeral expenses payable for the purposes of Section 32(1)(f) of the Code on Social Security, 2020 has been fixed at ₹20,000.

The notification shall be effective retrospectively from May 8, 2026.
